20 Meaningful Bible Verses about Life

You’ve probably heard the expression “What is the meaning of Life?”. Well, if you’re a Christian, the meaning of life takes on a totally different tone. Life goes on forever after our time on earth is gone. Whereas non-believers have a different perspective. Let’s dive into these wonderful Bible Verses about Life and how we can best define it.

We all have something in common – we are experiencing life right now. We showed up one day (as our parents tell us!) and currently live on this beautiful planet called Earth. But…we may wonder why are we here?

There are so many questions we may ask ourselves or others before we were converted but may still question the meaning of our lives:

  • What is the meaning of life?
  • How did we get here?
  • Why were we born?
  • What is my purpose in life?
  • Did God create me or was it just the Big Bang?

All of these answers and more are right in the Bible. But, we must first believe that God’s Word is infallible and the Truth. While we may think science and God’s Word don’t match based on what we hear on TV or read in books, that is certainly NOT true.

If science contradicts the Bible, then the findings are not correct. There is a flaw in the theory or statement, not in the Bible.

How do I know that it’s true? From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible reads as one book. And there is incredible unity in the Bible. The Bible is one book, yet it is made up of 66 books, with 40 different authors over a period of approximately 1600 years, in 13 different countries and on three continents. Wow!

And, did you know it was written in at least three different languages by people in various professions? The Bible forms one beautiful umbrella of truth that never contradicts itself in any way.

It is always perfect and correct whether it’s theologically, morally, ethically, doctrinally, scientifically, historically, or in any other way. Isn’t that an amazing truth?

Did you also know that the Bible is the Living Word? Jesus is the Living Word who died and rose again and is still alive & on the throne with God.

I bet you had no idea that the Bible is the only book in the world that has accurate prophecy. The prophecies in the Bible are accurate and detailed and many have been fulfilled.

There are over 300 prophecies specifically about Jesus Christ in the Old Testament that are fulfilled in the New Testament. How did the Jews miss it?

So, we’ve established where the pure truth about life is in the Bible. The answer to all these questions is right in the precious passages of the Holy Bible.

What Does the Bible say about the Value of life?

Did you know that you are so valuable that God knows how many hairs are on your head? God said He cares for his animals, why wouldn’t He care for us? He tells us in Matthew 10:31 that we are much more valuable than many sparrows.

Obviously, we are so valuable in God’s eyes. His love for us is never-ending.

Matthew 10:29-31 – Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not, therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

How does God Define Life?

God defines life as knowing us before we start forming in the womb. Wow, that’s amazing! He tells us this fact when speaking to Jeremiah, a prophet dubbed as “the weeping prophet”.

Since God is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent, he knows everything in the past, present, and future. We can count on Him to communicate when life begins because He is the creator of Life!

Jeremiah 1:5 – Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

Isaiah 46:4 – And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.

Bible Verses about Life Beginning at Conception

While this may seem to be a controversial subject, as Christians, we are told when Life begins.

As Psalms reminds us, we are made by God. We are marvelous and created from the womb.

If you’re not sure whether Abortion is right in the Lord’s eyes, read and meditate upon these scriptures.

Psalm 139:13-18 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. 17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! 18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

Isaiah 44:24 Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;

Galatians 1:15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace,

Job 33:4 The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.

Bible Verses about Life after Death

Many of us are frightened about dying but if we are true believers, we can be confident that there is life after death.

Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

John 3:16 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Bible Verses about Life on Earth

Living each day on this planet means closer to the end of our days. Yet, what are we supposed to do during this time?

During this special time on earth, we should always be striving for ways to draw closer to God. In addition, having a unique and special relationship with God helps us execute the Great Commission and share the Good News of the Gospel

Genesis 2:7 – And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

John 10:10 – The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Motivation Bible Verses about Life

Did you wake up today and lack the motivation to get out of bed? The road ahead of us has its twists and turns, and sometimes we just don’t want to know what lies ahead of our path.

We can be confident, however, that God loves us even more than a sparrow and knows the number of hairs on our heads. Why would he not care about our day and the details of our daily living?

Proverbs 3:1-2 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments. For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

Matthew 10:29-31 – Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not, therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

As Matthew 10:39 states, life is fleeting and if you love it, you’ll lose it. However, if you lose your life because of Jesus, you will find it and have treasures in heaven. That sounds like a much better deal to me!

The problem is we get impatient and want to see results now. If we wait on the Lord’s timing, our lives will be meaningful and fulfill the purpose that God has called us to do. What is your spiritual gift
